“In photography there are no shadows that cannot be illuminated.”
— August Sander

My very first exposure to the functionality of photography was in Girl Scouts where we used light sensitive papers to create designs out of everyday objects. Exploring the positive and negative space and having a hand in manipulating that was fascinating to me. As I grew older I started to notice how light would refract through various types of glass or reflect off different surfaces. I found myself using that light to create different stories, and that is what still life photography is to me.
